HURONIA TRANSITION HOMES

Community Relations and Marketing Coordinator (2010 – 2012)

At Huronia Transition Homes, I played a key role in organizing and promoting events designed to raise funds and awareness for program needs. These events included the Take Back The Night protest march, a gala, a community performance of The Vagina Monologues, and the LOL with HTH & Elvira Kurt comedy night. I also led a successful website redesign and facilitated several community presentations to amplify the organization’s mission to end violence against women.

For this role, key contributions and responsibilities are highlighted below.

Fundraising and Community Engagement

  • Organized, promoted, and executed eight events, ranging from protest marches and community performances to comedy nights.
  • Delivered informative talks and presentations to various community groups, including schools and local businesses, to share the organization’s harm reduction philosophies and available resources.
  • Developed important relationships with community leaders, key business partners, and media outlets.

Website Redesign

  • Led the successful redesign of the organization’s website to improve user experience and align with key organizational goals.
